The two companies have worked
together for about nine years, mostly on
interior holiday projects. Schwam says
his team thrives on designing and cre-
ating identities on flagship main floors.
Lord & Taylor had been unsatisfied
with its previous vendor when Schwam
and his team stepped in to help pick up
where the other vendor left off, starting
off almost immediately with a redesign
of the then newly renovated store that
lasted around four years. The following,
most recent redesign is now coming
into its third season.
Based in Harrison N.J., the 11-year-old,
full-service Holiday Image specializes
in 3D visual display props and freestanding fixtures, using high-end
materials to help companies create
their brand identity.
“We have expertise in matching
materials to a brand,” Schwam says.
“We are good for companies big on
putting their fingerprint on everything
While Holiday Image works with
many major department stores, the firm
also dabbles in the boutique retail and
commercial office markets. In addition
to domestic manufacturing, Holiday
Image leverages a network of factories
across Asia, a strategy that has helped
the vendor become a terrific resource
for its customers.
The process starts with a conversation. Typically, the team first spends
time getting to know the client, Schwam
says. Using tools such as Pinterest,
traditional renderings, inspirational
photos, and factory catalogs, Holiday
Image presents plenty of visuals before
ultimately creating official renderings
that reflect its interpretation of the

can put into the design.”
