CLOSING THE LOOP
As consumer interest in sustainability grows, materials throughout the supply chain and purchase
process come under scrutiny. Leveraging this interest, Los Angeles-based fashion house Reformation
is sustainably oriented, from its use of renewable energy to its B Corp status. With only a few stores,
the company uses energy-efficient fixtures, recycled hangers, and reusable tote bags. Online orders
are shipped in 100% recycled packaging, and the merchandise itself is made from sustainable fabrics
and vintage garments. Small wonder, then, that the company recently introduced RefRecycling to
engage customers in recycling old clothing. Online customers ship their discards back in the same box
in which their new threads arrived. See the video at http://bit.ly/1TObeRa.
