WE MAY BE PROUD of our accomplishments over the past 60 years (see page 12),
but we’re not resting on our laurels. Indeed, the year ahead will present more challenges
for us—and more solutions for you—as the Association for Retail Environments merges
with POPAI International, which has an even longer history.
POPAI, with more than 1,400 member companies in 45 countries, is the largest global
association for the retail industry. A.R.E. is the leading North American association for
suppliers to the retail environments industry with more than 750 member companies.
Combined, the new association
creates one industry association
representing all of the companies
that provide end-to-end products
and services for retail store environments and customer experiences.
The combined new association, to be rebranded in the coming months, will be
an essential resource to retailers in the global marketplace.

Here’s a little taste of what you missed
at our fall A.R.E. Shoptalks. In cities such
as Montreal and Cincinnati (shown),
ROI and technology workshops offered
actionable takeaways. This series
of regional events for retailers and
designers allows companies to give
networking and educational opportunities to team members who might not
be able to attend large national and
international events. Our 2016 Shoptalk
lineup will be available soon. Watch for
