Some companies never stop going above and beyond in their line of duty. Consistency and quality netted Nashville
Display its second Merriman Above
and Beyond Award in as many years.
This winner from 2015 continued the
trend with a win for service involving cross-merchandising racks for Nestlé Purina.
But it wasn’t just one incident that
prompted Jon Welker, manager of retail
experience at Nestlé Purina, to nominate the display company. Three years
ago, Nestlé Purina contacted Nashville
Display on behalf of a pet-specialty
chain, for which they had rolled out
some 300 full-sized merchandising
racks a few years before. The chain
was requesting service on racks in about
seven stores. Nashville Display repaired
not only the broken ones, but also all
300 racks out of its own pocket, just
as a precaution, Welker said.
“That’s why we are here three
years later,” he said. “If that scenario
had gone a different way, maybe we
wouldn’t be doing business with them
Seeking a partner
Nashville Display and Nestlé Purina
have been working together since
around 2012. For Welker, an ideal supplier brings innovative thinking based
on what the Swiss-based food and beverage company is looking to display.
Experience is also essential, as it brings
“lessons learned” to the process, as well
as being able to streamline a quality
product that can truly withstand the
retail environment. Above all, Welker
emphasized that it is essential to have
a supplier, like Nashville Display, that
will always stand behind its products,
resolving any issues along the way.
The cross-merchandising rack had that wow factor Welker looks for.
