The industry’s party ofthe year set records, both in attendance and in the
funds raised to support a future retail
design and merchandising talent pool. A whopping 850
industry leaders—from the likes of Ralph Lauren, Macy’s,
and Target as well as design and supply firms—turned out
to support the Planning and Visual Education Partnership
for its 18th Annual Gala on Dec. 3 in New York City. The
$300,000 in proceeds benefit PAVE’s programs for students
Award presentations during the festive evening included
the PAVE Student Design Competition sponsored by REI and
PAVE’s Rising Star Award. Retail Environments sponsored an
after party that had participants dancing the night away.
Setting the mood were student visual merchandising presentations inspired by the PAVE Gala 18th Edition artwork
created by Wests Design Consultants. Students were challenged to create original pieces arranging circular shapes
and dots in warm metallic colors. Participating schools were
New York’s FI T and LIM College along with Sydney TAFE.
The 2014 gala was co-chaired by PAVE Gala VP Bill Goddu
of Fleetwood, PAVE VP Harry Cunningham of Vera Bradley,
and Denise Waldo of Lozier Store Fixtures.
