idX Corp. is expanding its capabilities at its Columbia, Md., facility.
The company has built an area at its
435,000-sq.-ft. facility as a dedicated
space for décor and graphics fabrication. The expanded facility will
replace the nearby Lorton, Va., building, which is too small to accommodate idX’s future plans for the décor
segment. The move is expected to
be completed in May.
TRIAD is expanding and opening
a Dallas office and a Minneapolis-St. Paul office, both of which will
expand sales and sales support
in their respective markets. Many
of TRIAD’s newest customers are
based in those markets, and the
expansion will make employees
at those locations more local and
accessible. TRIAD’s new offices will
be located at 675 Glenville, Suite
195, Richardson, Texas, and at 867
Pierce Butler Route, St. Paul, Minn.
Packsize International has
expanded its z-Fold corrugated
production in Southern California.
A proprietary 97% recyclable corrugated material designed specifically
for On Demand Packaging, z-Fold
gives Packsize customers the ability
to control time and costs associated
with their carton packaging. The
expanded production for z-Fold from
a paper mill outside of Fresno will
increase Packsize delivery times by
at least 95% in Southern California.
DCI-Artform now has a new logo,
tagline, and website. Its tagline,
“Retail Redefined,” builds on a
platform of shopper marketing and
merchandising innovation driven
by its proprietary Retail Science
methodology. The updated brand
messaging comes on the heels of
DCI-Artform becoming part of the
Visual Impulse has changed its
name to Moss Retail, directly
aligning under the name of parent
company Moss Inc., a tension
fabric manufacturer for the retail,
event, exhibit, and sports markets.
Specializing in graphics systems,
structural systems, and lightboxes,
Moss Retail offers services from
visual and design conception to
prototyping and installation.
Sales of Trumari’s Lama instant
foldable display systems doubled
in 2013 as a result of growing
demand. Trumari anticipates
double-digit growth in 2014.
Glenda VanZutphen-Hart has
joined Global Visual Group as
manager of décor and sourcing.
She has been in the display industry
for 35 years in both design and
product development. Her designs
have been featured at many leading
retailer and brands, and she has
designed for numerous award-winning showrooms.
Prime Retail Services has promoted Jonathan Heinze and
Mack Turner to VP positions.
As VP of construc-
tion, Heinze will
be responsible for
managing the retail
and expanding the
services the company provides. As

will be responsible for managing

team and expanding
the nationwide ser-

In March, Combination Door
lost its former president and CEO,
Dave Schmidt. He went peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Schmidt started working in the
factory when he was 16 years old.
After graduating college, he went
through a variety of positions—time
study, costing, sales, marketing,
sales manager, general manager,
president, CEO, and finishing as
chairman. He spent 60 years with
the company. His knowledge of
the industry, along with his warm
personality, will be missed.
