iPhone 5s & 5c Windows
Apple stores, Worldwide
Playful, yet systematic, these windows are more than the sum of their parts. Like many great
window ideas, they rely on the repetition of a simple material to create an engaging pattern.
Created to mark the arrival of the iPhone 5s and 5c in stores, the windows epitomize
the company’s innovative, modern reputation. They feature unique sculptures reflecting
the material properties, precision manufacturing, and attention to detail that go into the
new iPhone models.
Filling the windows of 325 Apple stores on launch day, they use 4. 6 million injection-molded
balls arranged into gradated grids. The sculptures deliver a visual experience that encourages
viewers to investigate different angles and points of view.
Their arrangement minimizes the obstruction of sightlines, giving passersby a full view into
the store. There, the theme is carried through with a video loop on products using matching
colors while highlighting new soft ware features of iOS 7.
