LEED V4 to Launch this Fall
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced
that its membership has voted to adopt LEED v4,
the next update to the green building rating system.
“This update of LEED builds on the past while offering
new requirements, preparing all LEED projects to
achieve higher levels of building performance and
positive environmental outcomes,” said Scot Horst,
senior vice president of LEED for USGBC.

The Dallas event, hosted by Neiman Marcus and Gensler, will be held at Gensler’s
Dallas office, October 3. The Seattle event, October 24, will be hosted by REI and Callison
at Callison’s Seattle office, located in the U.S. Bank Centre, a 581-foot skyscraper with
44 floors and 289,000 square meters of office, designed by Callison Architecture.
Shoptalks are open to retailers, designers, and sponsoring suppliers. Both events

The first week of December is the best time for retail store planners and
designers to converge in the Big Apple. A.R.E.’s Retail Design Collective,
December 4 to 6, brings together everything special about the sights and
sounds of New York and retail design—the city’s famous holiday windows,
flagship retail decked out for the season, permanent and temporary
showrooms at 7 W and throughout the city, conference sessions featuring
visual inspiration from New York and around the globe, and one of the best networking
opportunities of the year—the PAVE Gala.
Each day, conference sessions, sponsored and developed by media partners Retail
Environments, DDI, and VMSD, will focus on design and visual merchandising trends,

This session, led by VMSD, will examine the visual merchandising and design
approaches of both established New York retailers and new fast-fashion retailers

rather as a “window to the world.”
