St. Louis-based idX Corp., a manufacturer of consumer environments, has expanded operations
in the U.K., adding the manufacturing capabilities
previously provided by Rockingham Display.
The new manufacturing facility enhances idX
London’s current project management office in
Swindon. The centrally located Leicester facility
is equipped with state-of-the-art woodworking
equipment and will add to the company’s P-O-P
and cosmetics display capabilities. The facility
has close to 30,000 square feet of manufacturing, warehousing, and office space, and will
employ about 30 former Rockingham Display
employees. John Pugh, formerly managing director of Rockingham Display, will serve as general
manager, working alongside Mark Fletcher, idX’s
director of international operations (Europe). The

plans to expand by the end of 2013 with the

Chain Store Age competition
A.R.E. member companies contributed
to more than a dozen award-winning
projects in Chain Store Age magazine’s
retail design competition. All winners
were featured in the magazine’s March
issue, and reviewed at CSA’s annual
SPECS conference in Dallas in March.

A.R.E. member winners include:
construction of a new, 70,000-square-foot building that will incorporate two stories of office
and customer-service space, research, testing,
engineering, and product development facilities,
as well as product assembly, customization, and
computerized warehousing. The new building is
located in Port Washington in Long Island, N. Y.
Jesco also owns a warehouse and office in Los
Angeles with a new showroom, a Florida regional
warehouse and distribution facility, and a network of overseas plants and offices in Hong Kong
Southeastern Products, a Fountain Inn, S.C.-based provider of retail decor, fixtures, design,
and product displays, donated products and services toward a new Food Lion wing at the North
Carolina Children’s Museum in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Dimensional signage manufacturer Gemini Inc.
of Cannon Falls, Minn., is celebrating its 50th
year in business. Gemini began in 1963 when
the business was purchased by Jim and Sharon
Weinel. At that time, Gemini specialized in the
manufacture of vacuum-formed plastic products.
In 1966, the company began the manufacture
of plastic letters, which marked the beginning of
its involvement in the sign industry. Gemini now
has seven plants located across North America.
Nora Lighting, based in City of Commerce, Calif.,
has partnered with Integrated Lighting Sales for
showroom representation in Northern California
and the Reno, Nev., area. Integrated Lighting is
based in Lafayette, Calif.
