Holiday Window 2012
Putting a modern edge on the traditional snow globe, designers transformed
windows into working globes with flat edges. Fabricated in three sizes (four, six,
and eight feet in diameter) to fit different displays, globes were outfitted with
blowers of different sizes in order to circulate the snow in precise proportions.
Ensuring that the snow falls, rather than blowing in circular patterns, required
engineering solutions to regulate airflow and blower speeds for each size.
