Dimensional Graphic Windows for Oakley
IMAGE OP TIONS, based in Foothill Ranch, Calif., created a dimensional retail window to the sunglass brand’s provided renderings and specifications. The challenge
was to achieve exacting product colors and substrate representation, the company
says. To attract a higher level of consumer attention, the company produced dimensional displays—ranging from four to six layers from the background to the window
surface—instead of traditional, single-piece flat window designs. An artifical turf
base adds even more dimension.
Materials and processes included frosted cut vinyl, artifical turf, lightjet face-mounted to clear acrylic, direct-print vinyl for a backdrop, direct-print gatorboard,
and nylon filament hangers. Image Options provided structural, prepress, color
management, digital output, fabrication, fulfillment, and installation services
for the project.
A Fresh Graphic Look for County Market
WHEN COUNT Y MARKET’S 10-YEAR-OLD STORE in Danville, Ill., was in need of a fresh look, KDM P.O.P. Solutions Group,
based in Cincinnati, provided space planning, decor, and design.
Because consumer demographics of the area were changing as
Danville’s population declined and aged, KDM redirected the
brand to attract a broader, younger customer base, while nurturing
the existing base. Decor, signage, and graphics were designed to
convey the overall fresh look with a visually friendly, sophisticated,
and comfortable atmosphere. The store department walls were
decorated with light-hearted quotes and sayings using die-cut
vinyl lettering applied to the walls. Wayfinding signage was kept
clean and simple for an uncluttered appearance. Print production,
lettering, dimensional signage, graphics, and store fixtures were
produced in-house by KDM.
After one year, the store continues to perform ahead of expectations. Covington Foods, owner of the store, experienced such great
lift from their Danville County Market store remodel, the company
made a strategic decision to capitalize on the market and open a
new store in neighboring Tilton, Ill., in an existing building. The new
Tilton store, opened in June, has the same fresh new look concept as
the Danville location, but the emphasis in the signage and graphics
messaging is more straightfor ward, focusing on savings and value.
