International Currency Exchange
Calgary Market Mall | Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The intention behind the design of the service
counter in the International Currency Exchange retail space in
Canada’s Calgary Market Mall was to break down the impersonal barrier between customers and staff and to make clients
feel more at ease in their financial transactions. Engineered
from a combination of highly lacquered white MDF with an
overlay of molded Corian that wraps around the MDF base
structure, the materials are conducive to the sculptural forms
envisioned for the counter and store concept. The concealed
blue LED lighting lends a lounge aesthetic to financial service
transactions. Interspersed along the length of the counter, low
glass panels with an etched pattern mimic the kinetic energy
of the wall graphics.

XSRE Bay Harbor Mall | Lawrence, N.Y.
The high-style cashwrap in XSRE’s Bay Harbor Mall
store in Lawrence, N.Y., calls out to customers strolling in
and is designed to evoke the “luxe-cheap-chic” of the XSRE
brand while fulfilling the need for high-visibility, functionality, and durability. The lower exterior portion of the cashwrap is covered in a faux-wood-textured silver laminate by
Architectural Systems Inc., while the suspended canopy is
composed of faceted mirrors and silver paillettes. By creating
clear, open sightlines with powerful, visual focals such as the
cashwrap, the goal is to encourage customers to explore and
browse the store.
