A Return to Optimism
The show, held March 28 to 30 in Las Vegas, heralds resurgence in retail
Su ccessful trade shows have a “buzz,” and there’s no doubt this year’s GlobalShop had it. The initia l nu mbers from
Nielsen show significant growth in attendance in 2011, with a 13 percent increase
in expo and conference attendance overall.
There was also more for attendees to see on
the floor of the Sands Expo and Convention
Center, with a 10 percent increase in
the show’s exhibit space and more than
130 first-time exhibitors.
But ultimately the numbers don’t mat-
ter as much as the fact that nearly every
exhibitor A.R.E. staff spoke with told us it
was the best show they’ve had in the past
five years—or more. And everyone we
talked to said their businesses were going
strong and they were enthusiastic about
the coming year.
A.R.E. was well represented at GlobalShop 2011, which had a 13 percent increase in attendance and a 10 percent increase in exhibitors,
130 of which were first-time exhibitors at one of the retail environments industry’s largest annual events.
