PAVE Announces 3D Design Challenge Winners
On March 28 during A.R.E.’s Design Awards,
the Planning and Visual Education Partnership
(PAVE) announced the winners of its second
annual 3D competition for college students in
store design, interior design, visual merchandising, and industrial design programs. The
competition, sponsored and presented by
B&N Industries, challenged students to design
a store fixture to sell pet accessories or products.
As sponsor and presenter of the challenge,
Burlingame, Calif.-based B&N Industries produced prototypes of the top 12 designs, which
were on display during GlobalShop 2011 in
Las Vegas in March.
First place, with a $5,000 award, went to
Catherine Morse and Gregory Vanderpol for
their “Hermes Talaris Saddle Display.” Morse
and Vanderpol are students at California State
University, Long Beach. Second Place and
$2,500 was presented to David Jenny and
Hitomi Kashimoto of the University of Tokyo,
for “plAy Dog.” Third Place and $1,500 went
to Johnlery Itugot of the Fashion Institute of
Technology in New York, for “Doggy Couture.”
The following students received honorable
mentions and $500 prizes:
