softline specialty store
Visitors enter the Kate Spade store through an extended show win-
dow, through oversized green doors perforating a glass partition
wall, into a shopping library, and up a dramatic staircase to a sec-
ond-level wardrobe sitting room. Vintage-inspired fixtures mixed
with actual mid-century furniture connect to the brand’s heritage,
while vivid colors paired with
bold patterns create a sense
of movement in the space.
Flexible bookcase units act as
the primary display for hang-
ing apparel and footwear
while handbags and small
leather goods appear in multi-
ple locations on tables, floating wall shelves, and an inset glass-and-
metal passthrough wall unit. Vibrantly colored boxes and shopping
bags are dispensed ‘Pez’-style behind the cashwrap. Painted gold
metallic squares highlight areas of fixtures, including the shelving,
walls, and rolling ladders.

Juicy Couture - London
Housed in a 300- year-old, 4,000-square-foot Georgian
house split into three retail floors, this flagship maintains its residential feel while playing up the brand’s
avant-garde style. Working closely with the London and
Westminster Heritage Societies, designers restored as
many original details as possible, including the staircases, hand-painted timber ceiling, mahogany trims,
eight fireplaces, ceiling and crown molding, and the
black and white marble flooring in the entrance hall.
Gold leaf, polished brass, antique and clear mirror, and
blackened steel were used to blend fixtures into the
atmosphere. British influences highlight visual merchandising with plaid throughout the store and props
such as the English-flag-painted horse bust, mannequins dressed in armor, English hunting scene artwork,
and marching Beefeaters.
