The PAVE Board of Directors met September
21, 2010, and among other business, approved
the creation of a PAVE internship program.
The internship program is envisioned as the next step for the
non-profit educational foundation in its efforts to provide direction to talented young people seeking rewarding careers in the
retail environments industry. The new PAVE Internship Program
will offer deserving students the opportunity to network and
gain exposure to aspects of the industry that they might not
have considered or knew existed. The program will help students build their resumes and portfolios while gaining valuable
industry experience. This industry-supported program will also
provide students with the chance to apply classroom principles
in a professional environment. PAVE expects to launch the program in Spring 2011. Other current projects include:
• PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge. Fifteen finalists have
been named for PAVE’s newest design challenge for students, once again sponsored by B&N Industries Inc. Students
were challenged to create fixtures for pet-specific accessories
or pet care products; finalists’ entries will be prototyped
and displayed at GlobalShop. See www.paveinfo.org for more
• Student Aid Program. Created in 2009, PAVE’s student aid
program was established to provide financial assistance to
students facing dire financial situations that could impact
their education. PAVE is currently reviewing applications for
this year’s grants.
